Journalists on the Rise

The Communications and Public Relations Department wants your help telling stories about our community. By participating in the department's Journalists on the Rise project, students of all grade levels can sharpen their storytelling skills and their work might be published through district communication channels, including newsletters, websites, and social media. The Journalists on the Rise project also provides students with the opportunity to add to a portfolio of work for college/job applications. Stories can be about student, staff, or community achievements, events, and activities. Fictional stories and works of poetry can also be submitted. Submissions should be no more than 500 words. Submissions must include the student’s name, grade, and school. Students are encouraged to include a relevant photo. Please send submissions to info@hazelwoodschools.org. The Communications and Public Relations Department will retain full editorial rights, including the right to decline to publish any submissions.
