My name is Arlene Woods, I started teaching in Hazelwood schools in January of 2020. Previously, I taught at a charter school in St. Louis. I have been in education for over twenty years. I have a Bachelor Degree in Child Development, a Master Degree in Teaching, Early Childhood Certification and a Special Education Certification. 

Why: My passion is teaching because I do believe every child can learn and has the right to be taught by a caring and dedicated teacher. My love is early childhood education. I work hard at giving students a firm education foundation to help them become lifelong learners.  I do believe in implementing Character Education as part of our classroom learning. Character Education ensures our students have the ability to respect themselves, their classmates, teachers, classroom and the school community. I believe teachers must work hard in building a classroom community where every student is learning and have a safe class environment to grow and flourish.
