Philosophy of Education
I believe classroom management, and setting high expectations, are the key to ensuring students are focused on their learning. Classroom management is easiest when my lessons are engaging and motivating to the students. I find that this is the best way to minimize disruptions and promote learning. High expectations are achieved when all of my students know that I expect them to try their hardest and strive for improvement every day. I am intentionally fair at all times, ensuring all students know I have their best interests at heart.
I grew up in the Hazelwood School District; attending Townsend, Jana, Hazelwood Jr. High, and Central. After graduation, I went to SIUE, where I met my husband, Kent. We live in Edwardsville, IL and have raised two amazing young men. Taylor is my 26 year old who lives in his own home with my grandpup, Theo. Parker is my youngest son who is 19. He lives at home and attends Lewis and Clark Community College. We also have a Lhasa Apso named Zoey and a Black Lab named Gracie. We love to spend time as a family having dinner and playing games together.
