Grab‐and‐Go Meal Delivery Routes
Dear Hazelwood School District Community,
As a reminder, Grab-and-Go Meal Delivery will run every day that school is in session to provide breakfast and lunch for students. Each school day, students will receive a pre-packed bag consisting of one breakfast and one lunch with drinks.
A waiver was extended by the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National School Lunch Program, which now allows HSD to serve all children through the age of 18. Therefore, staff will not be asking for names of students at this time. Students/parents/guardians can simply come to the bus to pick up the meals. Currently, the USDA anticipates that funding will allow this waiver to operate through at least December, if necessary. The district will continue to provide updates if there are any changes.
Please note that, unlike the summer program, buses will not wait at stops. Buses will stop long enough to deliver meals and then proceed to the next stop. Students/parents are encouraged to arrive at the stop several minutes before the scheduled time and wait up to ten minutes after the scheduled arrival time in case the bus is running late.
Buses will run the same routes back-to-back, approximately an hour apart. While the early route is intended for high school and some middle school students, students/parents/
guardians can pick up meals during the early or later route. While there are two opportunities to pick up meals, students/parents/guardians are asked to only pick up one set of meals each day.
HSD staff will wear face coverings and practice social distancing. Students and parents/guardians are also asked to follow the aforementioned CDC and St. Louis Department of Public Health recommendations.
