My name is John Koeneker and I am the proud principal of Walker Elementary. I have been the principal of Walker since the 2013-2014 school year. I am so proud of the success we have had here at Walker over the years. It can only be attributed to our great students and families and of course our wonderful staff. Our school motto is "The Best I Can Be is Up to Me" and we are constantly working to help our students become intelligent, independent and well rounded individuals.  

A little about me: I attended Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) and received two bachelors degrees in education. One in elementary and one in the social sciences. I taught elemntary school at Townsend Elementary. I then taught middle school math at Hazelwood Southeast Middle School. I earned a masters degree from Lindenwood University in Educational Administration and a doctorate from Maryville University in Educational Leadership.  I served as an instructional coach at Jamestown Elementary and briefly left the district to serve as the assitant principal of Hillsboro Primary. My wife, Caroline, and I have two children, Lucie and David, and live in the community we both grew up in.  

We have so many great community events including our Wildcat Assemblies on the 1st friday of each month, Currciulum Night, Family Fun Night and many more.  We hope you will be able to join us. I am looking forward to a great year!
