Education

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I have taught preschool, kindergarten, first and third grade. This is my 18th year in the field of education and 8th year as a classroom teacher.

Philosophy

I believe learning should be fun, meaningful and attainable. When students feel safe and loved at school,they become part of my class community. When they think they can succeed, they become more willing to take risks and try new things. When they notice that the things they are learning in school also help them to be successful outside of the classroom, they become more motivated, which leads to more success. It is my job to get them to this place! They learn to be respectful, work together, try their best and that learning is an ongoing process that never ends.

 Personal

I am married with two daughters,ages 18 and 13. I have a big, fluffy dog. I like to listen to music, bake and garden. My favorite things are pizza, chocolate, coffee, children’s books and being outside.
