Hazelwood Early Childhood Education will sponsor an evening of literacy activities for preschool children, PJs and Story Time, on February 6 at 6:00 p.m. at Hazelwood Central Early Childhood Education Center, 15955 New Halls Ferry Road.
“This Parents as Teachers (PAT) event fosters the development of early literacy skills,” said Curtis Gunn, PAT coordinator. “By utilizing games, crafts and activities, children receive exposure to some of the important skills that will influence them for the rest of their lives. We will also demonstrate strategies for parents to use with their child at home.”
In addition, Superintendent Dr. Steve Price and several other staff members will read stories during the activity.
Activities such as this support a HSD Value – “We will form partnerships with parents and community members to ensure the success of each student.”
