Parents and families of students at Jury Elementary School in the Hazelwood School District are invited to attend Science Fair Project Viewing Night on April 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Classroom science projects from kindergarten through fifth grade will be on display, as well as 10 individual projects from students in the science club at Jury. Projects will reflect scientific concepts such as force and motion, buoyancy, density, absorption, electricity, gravity and more.
The science club projects will be entered into the Greater St. Louis Science Fair at Queeny Park, which is held from May 4 through May 8, 2010. Winners will be recognized at a ceremony on May 7 at Queeny Park.
The fair is an initiative of the Academy of Science of St. Louis and is sponsored by Pfizer and The Monsanto Fund. For more than 60 years, the science fair has been “an amazing science catalyst for students in kindergarten through high school.” Hundreds of educators, scientists and science advocates “work year-round to bring science inquiry to life for more than 55,000 students in the St. Louis area” each year.
